The reason the river and the sea can be regarded as The rulers of all the valley streams Is because of their being below them. Therefore they can be their rulers. So if you want to be over people You must speak humbly to them. If you want to lead them You must place yourself behind them. Thus the sage is positioned above And the people do not feel oppressed. He is in front and they feel...

Guten Abend!
Apparently I have a French accent when I speak German. After many years of French being the only foreign language I know, switching to German is quite jarring in a great, refreshing way. I just can’t bring myself to speak words fully and I keep saying oui instead of ja. We’ll see how next week goes.

I’ve been on the search for months now to find the best white jasmine tea this city has to offer. After having a thorough discussion/many cups of tea with a representative at Adagio Teas, I picked up a bag of their Jasmine Silver Needle. Needless to say, I think I’ve come close.

On why I live in the best neighborhood in Chicago
This afternoon as I was walking back to my apartment from the bus stop, I stopped past the building that is currently in the finishing stages of being re-modeled into a cafe. I peeked into the widows and excitedly read the menu that must have been chalked up just that morning. Just as I was moving on, an older man peeked his head out of the front door and asked if I wanted to come in. Taken aback,...

Just got back from the market and opened all my widows. It’s 55 degrees outside. Lyndon, my canary, thinks spring has begun. I don’t have the heart to tell him otherwise.

While browsing around The Brown Elephant this afternoon… Shaun: This is a comfortable couch! Me: Yeah, so comfy! And it’s a hide-a-bed! Shaun: Is that some German designer? Me: -_-
